Description
Tempest is a highly acidic, inhibited cleaner designed for use in descaling Brewery Hot Liquor Tanks (HLT) and other equipment with hard water scale buildup.
This Inhibited HCL (Hydrochloric Acid) product contains an additive that inhibits acid corrosion.
Tempest has significantly less unpleasant acidic odor than most products used for this purpose.
Tempest should be used through a CIP Spray Device or sprayed or brushed onto the scaled surface. Tempest should be used at a concentration of 4 – 6 ounces per gallon of water and a temperature of 120°F to 130°F. The solution should circulate for 45 – 60 minutes. An alkaline product such as Excel Blast at 0.5% Caustic should be applied to the tank after the acid cleaning to neutralize any remaining acid residue.
